Navi Mumbai To Have Water Taxi Services From Feb 7

Navi Mumbai residents can rejoice as water taxi services from Belapur jetty to Gateway of India in South Mumbai will kick start from February 7. The new service will be reducing travel time between Mumbai from Belapur travel in just 60 minutes. The water taxis operating from Navi Mumbai will be operational in a phased manner connecting the city to Mumbai and Jawaharlal Nehru Port trust.

Water Taxi Services Between Mumbai & Belapur Flagged Off

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated the water taxi services between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, on February 18. The water taxi service will reduce travel time construction worth ₹8 crore under the Sagarmala scheme of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways. The water taxis are available for Rs 1,210 for DTC-Belapur, Rs 2,000 for DTC-Dharamtar and Rs 200 for DTC-Jawaharlal Nehru Port. One can avail monthly pass for ₹12,100.

Mumbai Port Trust To Begin Water Taxis From November

Come November, the Mumbai Port Trust will be launching 'water taxi services' to reduce commuting time. The taxi services will commence from Princess Dock in Mazgaon. Reportedly, in the beginning phase, the services will be operational from South Bombay to Vashi, Navi Mumbai, Belapur and Manwa. The water taxis aim to reduce the travel time by about 40-50 minutes. However, other details like fare and timings are not disclosed yet.

Kerala to Start Water Taxis in Alappuzha in October

Kerala is in arrangements to start its first water taxi in Alappuzha by October 2020. Reportedly, four diesel-powered boats, having seating capacity for 10 people, will be deployed to undertake journeys across the district. Kerala's water transport department Director Shaji V Nair said the service will be charged on 'per-hour basis', and will be 'affordable'.
