Assam Floods: Indian Army Starts Flood Relief Operations
To combat the flood situation in Assam, Indian Army's Gajraj corps, in coordination with Assam's civil administration has started flood relief operations from June 16. About nine composite teams of Gajraj corps were deployed in districts of Baksa, Nalbari, Bajjali, Darrang, Tamulpur, Hojai and Kamrup. Notably, the officials reached Sathikuchi village and rescued around 105 stranded locals. Nine more persons died in the floods, taking the death toll to 54.
