2 Crore Migrant Workers Given Financial Aid During Pandemic: Santosh Gangwar

Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Gangwar said that the Central government had taken "unprecedented steps" for labour-welfare and employment during the pandemic. He said, "About 2 crore migrant workers have been provided Rs 5,000 crore directly in their bank accounts." Reportedly, the amount provided was arranged from Building and other Construction Workers' Cess Fund. The ministry also established 20 Control Rooms across the country to assist migrant workers, he added.
