Bombay HC Says Freedom Of Expression Can't Infringe On Others' Rights
The Bombay High Court opined that democracy allows freedom of expression but not to violate the constitutional rights of others. The court's remark came while hearing a petition that requested to revoke an FIR, which was filed against Sameer Thakkar, who made derogatory comments against Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. The petition read Constitution allows citizens to criticize the authorities. However, the court observed the criticisms cannot be unfair and abusive.
