Forest Department Builds A "Eco-Bridge" To Help Reptiles Cross Busy Highway
In a unique initiative taken by the Uttarakhand Forest Department, a 90-foot long 'eco bridge' has been erected to help reptiles cross the busy highway. The bridge has been made using grass, jute, and bamboo under 10 days in the Ramnagar forest division, on the main route to Nainital. The forest is home to various species of snakes, monitor lizards, monkeys, and squirrels, which were often killed by high-speed vehicles.
