35 Arrested In Odisha For Destroying Reserve Forest
Odisha Forest and Environment Department arrested 35 people for illegally destroying a reserve forest area in order to ''construct permanent dwelling units'' in Sambalpur district on September 8. To stop the offenders, the Odisha govt has also increased the reward from Rs 1,000 to 5,000 for providing information about such people. According to the state Environment Minister, the govt has recorded 55,412 forest offences in the last five years.
