Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa District Bags National Award For Water Conservation

Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa district received a national award from Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu under Jal Shakti Abhiyan for water conservation efforts. The district scored 84.84 to bag the first rank. Second and third rank was secured by Telangana's Sangareddy (77.75) and Tamil Nadu's Thanjavur (69.79) respectively. Kadapa District Collector Ch Harikiran said the district undertook activities like reuse and recharge structures and intensive afforestation among others to become leading water conserver.
