The voting for the election of new Vice President of India will be held on August 6. Current Vice President Venkaiah Naidu's tenure will come to an end on August 10. National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) Vice Presidential candidate is West Bengal governor Jadgeep Dhankar, who filed his nomination on July 18. Venkaiah Naidu Calls For Character Development Education At School: Hyderabad
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu asked schools to forge a strong moral character in children and instil the national values of oneness, harmony and universal brotherhood from a young age. Rajya Sabha Adjourned Sine Die Amid Opposition's Ruckus
The Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha were adjourned sine die, ahead of the scheduled end of the Union Budget Session 2022-2023. As per PTI, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu could not even read out his customary closing remarks amid ruckus by Shiv Sena leaders and opposition MPs in the parliament. Due to the chaos in the session, the RS Chairman adjourned sine die.

Rajya Sabha Bids Farewell To 72 Members; Chairman Venkaiah Naidu Organises Dinner
The retirement of two third of the members of Rajya Sabha this year, turned out to be one-of-a-kind. The upper house whose two third of the members retire once in two years, witnessed the retirement of 72 members, and a record attendance of 203 members, on March 31. About six sitting members of the house have volunteered to offer vocal and musical performances during dinner organised by Chairman Venkaiah Naidu.

DMK Members Walkout Of Rajya Sabha After Venkaiah Naidu Refuses To Take Up NEET Issue
Members of DMK, the ruling party of Tamil Nadu, walked out of Rajya Sabha session over Tamil Nadu Governor's decision to return the NEET exemption bill, on February 4. PTI reported that DMK members insisted on raising the NEET issue during the Zero Hour, for which chairman Venkaiah Naidu did not agree. After the incident, Naidu said, "if the others had cooperated," the issue would have been taken up.

Venkaiah Naidu To Chair Rajya Sabha Floor Meeting On Jan 31: Delhi
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu will be chairing a Rajya Sabha floor leaders meeting. Scheduled on January 31, at 5 pm, the meeting will be held virtually. During the meeting ahead of the Union Budget session, leaders will discuss MP suspension issue, budget session, COVID-19 spread amongst Parliament members and oppositions ruckus to disturb the session. Notably Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman will present 2022-23 budget on February 1.

Venkaiah Naidu Asks To Review COVID-19 Situation At Parliament Amid Budget Session
Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu, on January 10, called on Parliament Speaker Om Birla. He asked Birla to review COVID-19 situation at Parliament, ahead of the Budget Session, scheduled from February 1. Naidu directed to ensure effective measures to prevent COVID-19 spread and conduct of Budget session. The judgement came after recently, 400 staff tested positive for COVID-19.
