Centre To Postpone Making PhD Minimum Criteria For Asst Professor Recruitment

In consideration of the COVID-19 pandemic, the central government has decided to put a pause to making Ph.D. the minimum requirement for assistant-professor recruitment this year. Ministry of Education has temporarily modified the requirements to allow universities to fill the vacancy. Education Ministry said, "Around 10,000 posts vacant in the Central-universities including teaching and non-teaching staff." The initiative is anticipated to speed up the filling of empty teaching positions in higher education institutions.
