CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan Bans Chinese Firecrackers; Makes It A Punishable Offence

Amid India-China border issues, MP CM on November 4 declares ban on Chinese firecrackers in the state affirming strict action will be taken, if found selling or using it. Punishment includes two years of jail, under Section 9-B (1) (B) of the Explosives Act. Additionally, to bring the rule completely into effect, no import licenses will be issued for firecrackers. The CM appealed to citizens to buy local earthen-lamps and empower local potters.
