Conversion Therapy To Be Banned in New Zealand
The Labour party of New Zealand has promised to ban conversion therapy, if re-elected on October 17. Conversion therapy provides a means to alter sexual orientation. The Labour party leader, Tāmati Coffey, on October 5, said that the therapy was linked to many adverse effects including depression and anxiety and hence the party has decided to ban it. Currently, the therapy is already banned in several US states and Canada.
