Courts On Live-in Relationships; HCs & Their Contradictory Opinions
In the past years, courts have been volatile about live-in relationships. Rajasthan High-Court allowed police protection to a live-in couple, stating that denying it, would be equivalent to court adhering to social-morality rather than constitutional-morality. However, in response to a recent query from court on whether a live-in couple might be provided police protection, the court declined it. Court's opinion about live-in relationships have always been "inconsistent".
