COVID-19 Blues: Tokyo Olympic Bars Overseas Spectators For Games
Tokyo Olympic 2021 organisers have announced to hold the summer games without any international spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The organisers cited that allowing spectators would pose a health hazard as the countries are consistently discovering new COVID-19 variants. Moreover, the organisers have also refrained from permitting spectators for the opening ceremony of the torch relay. Reportedly, the Summer Olympics and the Paralympics will be conducted behind the curtains this year.
