Dhoni's Ploy Helps CSK to Win IPL 2020 Opener

Chennai Super Kings started its IPL 2020 campaign in style with defeating Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets. In a topsy-turvy ride, the match predictions swung before CSK sealed it by Rayudu's and Faf Du Plessis' half-centuries. On the last ball of 16th over, Rahul Chahar took a stunning catch on his ball to send good-looking Rayudu back to the dugout. And when people expected Dhoni to hit the ground, he was having parallel set of plans in his mind. Surprisingly, Jadeja was sent up the order and once he got dismissed, Dhoni sent Sam Curran. The reason was to keep a right-left hand combination with Du Plessis and slog. Both Curran and Jadeja played a useful cameo, scoring 28 runs of the 11 balls they faced collectively. This abridged the run-ball difference, and made easier for CSK to seal the victory by scoring 163 runs comfortably with 4 balls remaining.
