Digital Crafting: South Korean Artist Makes Furniture With Cornstarch
By producing eco-friendly furniture using bioplastics, South Korean artist Ryu Jong-dae has showcased a novel way of using the substances that are harmful to the environment. Reportedly, he uses polylactic acid, made of cornstarch or sugarcane, to make furniture that cuts down the usage of plastic in craftwork. Terming it 'Digital Crafting', he says it is meaningful because it expands the "scope of work from existing crafts by using new materials."
