Bail Plea Is Right Of Every Prisoner, Says Allahabad Court
The Allahabad High Court has said that every prisoner has a fundamental right to file the bail application without delay. The single judge bench of Justice Ajay Bhanot was hearing a plea filed by Anil Gaur, an accused in a murder case. On September 15, the court granted bail to Anil, who could not approach the court as he was financially weak and abandoned by his family after his imprisonment.

Lakhimpur Kheri Case: Ashish Mishra Moves SC For Bail, Challenging Allahabad HC Order
Ashish Mishra, the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri case, has moved to Supreme Court for bail, after his plea was rejected by the Allahabad High Court. Mishra contended that there is no scope for him tamper with the evidence, since all 98 witnesses have been provided security. Allahabad HC Rejects Plea To Probe 22 Closed Doors Of Taj Mahal
Allahabad HC rejected a plea filed by Rajneesh Singh, a BJP youth media-in charge, regarding 22 closed doors of the Taj Mahal. On May 12, the HC bench reviewed the petition, seeking to open the doors, and asked for an archeological survey of the doors claiming the presence of Hindu idols. The petitioner also asked for a fact-finding committee to probe the closed doors. However, the court rejected the plea.

SC Cancels Bail Of Lakhimpur-Kheri Incident Accused Ashish Mishra
The Supreme Court (SC,) canceled the bail plea of Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Violence, on April 18. The BJP Minister Ajay Mishra's son has been accused of killing eight people in Lakhimpur, UP, and has been found guilty by SIT. Notably, in February 2022, Allahabad HC granted bail to Mishra. However, the SC canceled his bail and asked him to surrender within a week.

Inserting Penis Into Mouth Is 'Less Serious' Crime: Allahabad HC
The Allahabad High Court on November 20 reduced the sentence of Sonu Kushwaha from 10 years to 7 years, stating that the offence is "less serious". Reportedly, Kushwaha conducted oral sex with a 10-year-old child in exchange for Rs 20 and also threatened him to not tell anyone. ''It's clear that the offence falls under section 4 of the POCSO Act,'' the court observed.
