Indian Railways Issues Guidelines To Prevent Crimes Against Woman
Making an effort to ensure women safety, the Indian Railways has issued guidelines, including an action plan, to keep the women passengers safe. The guidelines have long term and short term goals including improved infrastructure such as CCTV surveillance and Light Masts. Moreover, it added that no staff should be allowed on trains and railway stations without proper identity cards. Reportedly, of the 23 million passengers travelling daily via trains, 20% are females.
