Journal Asserts Masks May Work as Vaccine to Build Immunity Against COVID
New England Journal of Medicine recently stated that face masks not only limit the exposure to coronavirus but also help build immunity against it. Masks help filter-out virus droplets from reaching a person and hence create a variolation effect, it said. Variolation effect suggests if people are exposed to small amount of virus, they may experience mild symptoms but, in turn, they will develop immunity against the severity of disease.
