Meghalaya: Governor Satya Pal Malik Discontented With Implementing ILP

Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik has expressed his discontentment regarding the implementation of the Inner-Line Permit (ILP) in the state. He stated that it would not fetch any investments and affect the state's economy and tourism. However, the Governor said, “This is not my opinion, but assessment. Whether or not ILP should be implemented is the Centre’s prerogative.” Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act is yet to receive the governor's nod.
