NHAI Touches All-Time High Record; Constructs 30Km Highway/Day
Addressing the Lok Sabha on February 4, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has informed that road construction in India neared 30 km/day for the first time. Gadkari credited the development to the National Highways Authority of India and claimed the construction would compete for standards of US and European countries in five-years. Reportedly, the Centre, under its Bharatmala Pariyojana, eyes on laying 34,800 km in highways with Rs 5.35 lakh crore budget.
