PM Modi Bats For Buying Domestic Products During Festival Shopping
In his 17th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat 2.0', Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Indian citizens to be 'Vocal for Local' during this year's festival shopping. Commencing the talk with 'Dussehra' wishes, PM Modi re-emphasized the importance of COVID-19 frontline workers during the lockdown. He stated that the life would have been "miserable" without them and asked to consider them as our family. While encouraging 'Vocal for Local', the PM noted that the Khadi Store at Connaught Place, New Delhi registered a whopping Rs 1 crore earning from sales during Gandhi Jayanti season. He further acclaimed that 'Mallakhambh' is gaining popularity in the US after Chinmay Patankar and Pragya Patankar started teaching it there. Additionally, PM Modi asked the citizens to visit the website for more nuanced understanding of 'Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat' vision. He also conversed with barber Pon Mariyappan from Tuticorin who has a library in his shop to enlighten the customers.
