Remote Voting To Be Reality By 2024 Lok Sabha Elections: CEC Arora

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has indicated that the remote voting concept would start from 2024 General Elections. While the EC has already collaborated with IIT-Madras and others explore the concept, it will roll a pilot project in 2-3 months. However, the CEC negated the concept of voting from home and affirmed to use ‘blockchain’ technology in the two-way electronic voting system on recognized IP devices, using dedicated polling booths with biometrics and webcam.
