Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said that he has directed the district ministers to conduct a study on the prevailing drought in their districts and submit a report before November 15. “I have asked them to meet the people to know the ground reality," said CM Siddaramaiah. Chhattisgarh BJP leader Ratan Dubey was hacked to death by unidentified Naxalites in the Narayanpur district, three days before the first phase of state assembly polls, scheduled to take place on November 7. Dubey, who was the BJP's district president in Narayanapur, was killed while he was campaigning for the party in Kaushalnar village. Dubey was attacked and killed with a sharp weapon by unidentified Naxalites.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a leader of the Khalistan movement and the head of the banned organisation Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), has released a video once again, in which he issued a threat to disrupt Air India flights on November 19. In a video bearing the Sikhs For Justice watermark, Pannun can be heard saying, "We urge the Sikh community to refrain from traveling on Air India.
