Biological Father Can't Be Booked For Kidnapping Child From Mother In Absence Of 'Prohibition Order':
The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has ruled that a biological father cannot be booked for kidnapping his minor child in the absence of legal prohibition and quashed the FIR registered against him by his estranged wife. n the absence of any “prohibition order” of any court, the father was a lawful guardian along with the mother and hence he cannot be booked for taking minor away.

A tribal woman has lodged a police complaint alleging that she was abducted by three men around six months ago and raped repeatedly. The woman, a resident of Bhagor village, alleged that she was abducted from her house and confined to an isolated place for the last six months. In an FIR lodged at Kishanganj police station on August 2. In the FIR, the victim named three people.

In April 2014, Boko Haram Militants raided the school in the northeastern town of Nigeria's Chikbok, where they abducted 270 girls. However, on August 7, one of the abducted girls was freed and later reunited with her parents after seven years, said Borno state’s governor. Meanwhile, after mediation in 2017, 82 girls were freed adding the rest 24 who were either rescued or found. Besides, 113 girls are still under abduction.
Following a complaint of abduction, Haryana's Hisar police solved the case within 90 minutes and arrested eight persons for the crime on July 26. Reportedly, the two accused called first kidnapped Mahendra on the pretext of showing him a car and later others called the victim's two brothers as well. Subsequently, the kidnappers closed them in an old house in Azad Nagar and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh.

Fugitive Indian businessman Mehul Choksi was likely on a romantic trip with his girlfriend when he got caught in Dominica, said Antigua and Barbuda PM Gaston Browne. However, Choksi had claimed that he was abducted by the collaborative efforts of Antiguan officials and those having "'links with India" and was allegedly tortured. Recently, Choksi's picture, after his arrest, had surfaced that showed him covered in bruises.

In a new twist to Mehul Choksi's case, the diamantaire's lawyer Vijay Aggarwal has claimed that his client was "forcefully picked by various people", thus explaining his emergence in Dominica. Besides, he also alleged that Choksi has sustained multiple injuries on his body, which indicates of him being "tortured" by the abductors. Meanwhile, Antigua, from where Choksi fled, has asked Dominica to repatriate him directly to India.
In a heart-wrenching instance, abducted CoBRA commando Rakeshwar Singh Minhas's five-year-old daughter Sharagvi was heard appealing to the Naxals "Please, release my father". Minhas was abducted by the Maoists in an ambush that killed 22 personnel on April 4 in Chhattisgarh.
