Kill Me So Story Will Get Over, Says Gold Smuggling Accused Swapna Prakash

Prime accused in Kerala Gold Smuggling case Swapna Suresh made an emotional appeal, asking not to hurt people around her. On June 11, she said, "Please kill me so that the story will get over". The emotional statement from Prakash came after, Kerala Police filed non-bailable charges against Prakash, dragging her lawyer R Krishnaraj, saying he is likely to be arrested for a social-media post, hurting religious sentiment.

Local Court Announces Life Imprisonment To 6 Accused In 1995 Murder Case

In Uttar Pradesh, a Pratapgarh local court sentenced life imprisonment to six people, accused in a 1995 murder case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 24,000 on each of the accused. Kripa Shankar, a local leader filed the petition in 1995, claiming Harivansh Tiwari; Anoop (Umesh) Om Prakash, alias Nanhe; Rajesh Kumar, alias Lallu; Anant Kumar Tiwari and Kamlesh Kumar Pandey, allegedly killed his nephew Suresh Narayan.

Delhi Woman Raped In Gurugram Hotel, FIR Filed

In Haryana's Gurugram, a Delhi woman (28) accused a man of rape, said police who registered a case under IPC section. On June 2, the woman said, she befriended the man on Facebook and knew him. They met at a hotel, where he made her drunk and raped her. She said, "When I resisted he threatened me and ran away". The police are verifying the claims and launched an investigation.

4 Accused Arrested In 1993 Mumbai Blast Case Remanded14-Days Judicial Custody

A special CBI court remanded four persons, arrested in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. The four accused, Abu Bakar, Saiyad Qureshi, Mohammad Shoeb Qureshi and Mohammad Yusuf Ismail were sent to judicial custody for 14 days with the CBI for further investigation. Earlier in May, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested the four people from Gujarat after receiving a tip-off, who were produced before the CBI court.

Mumbai Blast 1993 Case, 4 Accused Remanded With CBI

A Mumbai court remanded four accused linked in Mumbai blast 1993 riot with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI,)  on May 24.  As per sources, Abu Bakar alias Abdul Gafoor, Syed Qureshi alias Rahat Jan Qureshi, Mohammad Shoaib Qureshi alias Shoaib Bawa, and Mohammad Yusuf Ismail alias Yusuf Bhatka were held by Gujarat's Anti-Terrorist Squad and have been remanded terror outrage, which claimed over 250 lives and left 700 injured.

Special Court Sentence 10 Year Imprisonment To Father-Son In Rape Allegations

Maharashtra's special POCSO court announced10 years' imprisonment to a father-son duo for raping the man's mentally challenged minor daughter. On May 2, the court bench led by judge Kavita D Shirbhate announced the verdict and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 each. Furthermore, the accused were allegedly raping 15-year-old mentally-ill girl in Thane, since 2017, and were charged under the IPC and POCSO act.

In Maharashtra 30-Year-Old Arrested For Setting Fire To Chowki

In Maharashtra, a 30-year-old man identified as Sunny Sadanand Kadam has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a police chowki on the evening of May 2.  Notably, Kadam's action was in reaction to an offence registered against him at Mira Road Police Limits. After police personnel doused the fire, they registered a case under sections 435 and 506 of the IPC.

40-Year-Old Woman Raped, Murdered In Guntur, 2 Arrested: AP Police

In Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district, a 40-year-old woman was allegedly raped and murdered, said police on April 28. Two accused identified as Mareedu Shiva Satya Sairam (27) and Korrapati Venkata Sai Satheesh (24) surrendered themselves to police after the police started a hunt for them. Khargone Violence: Reward Announced For Tip-Off On Absconding Accused

A reward of Rs 10,000 each has been announced for a tip-off on the miscreants accused in the Khargone violence, who are still on the loose. As many as 106 such accused persons are there, and over 63 FIRs have been filed regarding communal violence. On 18th April, the Madhya Pradesh government announced Rs 1 crore as relief for the Khargone violence.

Odisha Court Gives Life Imprisonment To Man In 2018 Murder Case

An Odisha court sentenced life imprisonment to Budhuram Bindhani, convicted in a murder case. As per PTI, the convict allegedly murdered Sachindra Mohanta (55) after a heated quarrel. The victim died during treatment at a government hospital. The incident happened on February 18, 2018, and the verdict was given on April 20, 2022.  Judge Deepak Kumar announced the judgment based on the statements of 19 witnesses.
