Supreme Court Refuses To Delay Local Polls, Suggests Additional Forces: Tripura
The Supreme Court (SC,) on November 23, heard a plea by the Trinamool Congress and refused to delay the Agartala Municipal elections in Tripura, amid violence. In addition, the apex court asked the election authority to deploy additional forces to ensure smooth polls, scheduled on November 25. The Top Court also directed the Director-General of Police (DGP) and Home Secretary to submit a report on arrangements of the polls.

SC To Hear TMC's Plea Against Tripura Violence
The Supreme Court (SC) is expected to hear a petition filed by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) against the Tripura violence, on November 23. The plea was filed in view of the continuous violent incidents ahead of the Agartala Municipal Elections on November 25. The apex Court asked police to ensure that no political parties are restricted from their campaign rights within law and order.
