Former Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb and BJP’s Gulam Ali have taken oath as the new MPs in Rajya Sabha on September 28. Central Govt Due To Revise DA, Hike Expected By 3-4 Percent
The Union Cabinet is due to announce its decision on the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the second half of the year 2022. After the recent revision and DA hike, the Union Cabinet is likely to increase the DA for all the central government employees and pensioners considering the increasing inflation rates and price hike of essential commodities. DA is likely to be hiked between 3 to 4%.

Tripura Animal Resource Development Imposes Ban On Animal Slaughtering
To prevent animal cruelty, Tripura's Animal Resource Development Department Secretary Dr DK Debnath issued a notice on July 9. As per the notice, on the occasion of Eid-Al-Adha or Bakra Eid, no animal slaughtering will be allowed in rural, urban cities of Agartala, Tripura. Anyone found violating the law will attract punishment under the Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act 1960, and the Animal slaughtering prevention act.

Tripura Govt Intends To Re-Enroll Students Who Dropped Out Due To Covid Pandemic
Tripura government has decided to readmit all students aged 6 to 14 who had to discontinue their education. The decision was taken after the education department performed a study that revealed 8,850 students in Grades 1 through 8 had dropped out due to closure of physical education classes because of Covid pandemic. As part of School Cholo Abhiyan, the department will embark on an inquiry to re-enroll all dropout children.

SC Suspends Enforcement Of Tripura High Court Decision To Provide Protection To Ambanis
In a PIL contesting the provision of security coverage to tycoon Mukesh Ambani and his family in Mumbai, the Supreme Court on June 29 suspended the Tripura High Court's rulings. A vacation bench gave notice in response to the Centre's argument challenging the two high court decisions from May 31 and June 21. Further high court proceedings on the PIL would also be halted, according to Solicitor General Tushar Mehta.

Counting Of Votes For Tripura's Assembly By-Election Begins
Counting has begun after bypolls were conducted in four assembly constituencies in Tripura, on June 23. An average of 78.58% voter turnout was recorded in all four constituencies- Agartala, Town Bordowali, Surma and Jubrajnagar. The counting of votes is carried out with right security. Reportedly, during the bypolls, a cop was stabbed political miscreants caused minor atrocities.

Tripura Violence: 6 MP Delegation Visits Election Commission To Submit Deputation
A six MP delegation of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party visited the Election Commission of India to submit a deputation in connection to the case of violence in Tripura. It was alleged that the violence erupted due to "BJP-sponsored goons". Reportedly, two AITC workers were allegedly beaten up in the Surma assembly constituency ahead of the bypolls. Furthermore, it is alleged that the police were restricted from reaching the spot.

11 MLAs Swear In As Cabinet Ministers In Tripura
In Tripura's newly formed Manik Saha led government, eleven MLAs sworn in as cabinet ministers, on May 16. Out of the eleven, nine were BJP MLAs and 2 were from IPFT. Governor SN Arya administered the oath taking ceremony. Reportedly, the portfolios of the cabinet ministers will be announced later. Sushanta Chowdhury, shortly after taking oath, said the new cabinet ministers would "fulfill the dreams" of former CM Biplab Deb.

Twenty Four Rohingya Immigrants Held In Tripura
In Tripura's Unakoti district, the police detained 24 Rohingya immigrants, on May 3. As per sources, these refugees, including 10 children were on their way from Kumarghat to Kailashahar in three cars. SP Kishore Debbbarma said,"On suspicion, all the suspected Rohingya immigrants were detained and taken to Kailashahar police station for interrogation."
