India's First Indigenous Aircraft Carrier 'INS Vikrant' Begins Sea Trails
India has started sea trials of its first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) named ''INS Vikrant'' on August 4. Reportedly, INS Vikrant is 860 feet long, 230 feet wide, and weighs about 45,000 metric tons. However, it will be commissioned in August 2022 and fully operational in mid-2023. Notably, it has been designed by the Directorate of Naval Design of the Indian Navy, who said it's a ''proud and historic day''.

Minor Fire On Board INS Vikramaditya Doused, All Personnel Safe: Navy
Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya reported a minor fire on board on May 8 morning. While no major damages to the vessel and personnel were reported, the Navy has ordered for probe into the incident. Reportedly, the duty staff noticed 'smoke emanating from a part of the warship' and quickly extinguished the fire ensuring safety. The modified warship bought from India is currently at Karnataka's Karwar harbour.
