Sunil Tatkare, the leader of National Congress Party (NCP) is now appointed as the National President of the Party in Maharashtra. After the sudden exit of Ajit Pawar, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP names Sunil. Notably, in a setback to the NCP, Ajit Pawar announced his resignation and joined the opposition, Eknath Shinde led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra.

Ajit Pawar Says Sharad Pawar Will Rethink His Quitting Decision
In the latest development in Sharad Pawar quitting the National Congress Party as the President, Ajit Pawar made a remark. Speaking to the media, NCP leader Ajit Pawar on behalf of Sharad Pawar said, "I took my decision but because of all of you, I will rethink on my decision. Sharad Pawar Invites NCB Leaders For Emergency Meeting After Nawab Malik's Arrest
NCB chief Sharad Pawar invited party leaders to his residence for an emergency meeting, after the arrest of Nawab Malik, on February 23. Maharashtra: DCM Ajit Pawar Tests Positive For COVID-19
The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar tested positive for COVID-19 on October 26. Earlier, the 61-year-old had tested negative for the virus after visiting the rain-affected areas of Pune and Solapur. Pawar in his tweet mentioned that he is maintaining stable health and was admitted at Mumbai's Breach Candy for doctor's advice. Recently, former CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis also tested positive for COVID-19.

Pune To Start 'Molecular Testing' for COVID-19, Will Deliver Results in 13 Minutes
In a first-of-its-kind, Pune will start using 'molecular testing' device for COVID-19, which is expected to deliver positive results in about five minutes and negative results in 13 minutes. The device has already obtained approval from both US Food and Drug Administration and Drug Controller General of India. Developed by Krsnaa Diagnostics Pvt Ltd, the device will be inaugurated by Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar.
