JNU Activist Umar Khalid Arrested in Connection With Northeast Delhi Riots
Delhi Police Special Cell have arrested activist Umar Khalid, a former JNU student, for conspiring in connection with northeast Delhi riots. UP: Dr Kafeel Cleared of NSA Charges; Allahabad High Court Orders His Release
The Allahabad High Court on September 1 directed the UP government to release Dr. Kafeel Khan immediately, who was booked under the National Security Act (NSA). Kafeel was charged NSA in February for an alleged provocative anti-CAA speech at Aligarh Muslim University. The judgement was delivered by a division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh, on the petition filed by Dr. Kafeel's mother.

Anti-CAA Protest: Muslim Members of Shaheen Bagh Join BJP
Several members of the Anti-CAA protests of Shaheen Bagh who belong to the Muslim community, joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on August 16. "The enthusiasm with which Muslim brothers and sisters are joining BJP clearly shows that people of all religions have faith in the Modi government," said Adesh Gupta, Delhi unit BJP President in the presence of whom the induction ceremony took place.
