Cardless ATM Cash Withdrawal Extended To All Banks Using UPI
The RBI has mandated using of UPI for cardless withdrawal of money across all ATMs, on April 8. The decision was taken to boost customer convenience and lessen cases of fraud. ''It is proposed to enable customer authorisation through the use of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) while settlement of such transactions would happen through the ATM networks,” stated RBI Governor. The RBI will soon issue guidelines for the same.

3 Arrested In Connection To ATM Robbery In Badarpur: Delhi
Police arrested three members from a Mewat-based gang for allegedly robbing an ATM. The accused identified as Imran (35), Salman (26), Shakeel (32), all residents of Haryana, robbed an ATM of a nationalised bank containing Rs 34 lakh, in Badarpur area of Delhi. Gang leader Imran has a criminal record of over 20 cases under his name, including that of a murder. Further investigation is underway.

Banks To Face Penalty If ATMs Run Out Of Cash
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed all banks and White Label ATM operators to ensure timely replenishment of ATMs to avoid cash-outs and inconvenience to the public. A penalty of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on failing to do so. According to the new rule, "cash-out at any ATM of more than 10 hours in a month" will be subjected to the penalty.

Man Gets Stuck Behind ATM While Stealing
Upendra Rai from Bihar, while trying to rob a privately-owned ATM got stuck behind the machine on August 6 near Tamil Nadu’s Mohanur. Reportedly, the visitors at ATM heard an unusual sound on August 5 and alerted the police. After inquiry, the police found that Rai was a worker at the poultry feed unit in Baralli. The police are probing into the case for further details.

RBI's New ATM Cash Withdrawal Limits: Explained
The Reserve Bank of India on June 10 revised the limits for ATM cash withdrawals. Customers are now allowed up to five free transactions in a month, from their own bank ATMs. Withdrawals from other bank ATMs will be free for the first three transactions in metro centres and first five transactions in non-metro centres. MAHA: Palghar Police Nabs Three People For Absconding With Rs 4.25 Crore
Maharashtra's Palghar police have arrested three people including a cash van driver for absconding with Rs 4.25 crore. The accused has been identified as Rohit Aaru, Akshay Prabhakar Mohtay and Chandrakant Gulab Gaikwad. However, the DCP Sanjay Patil of Vasai Vihar said that an amount of Rs 2.33 Crore was recovered from the van which was left unclaimed, while Rs 1.88 Crore was retrieved after the arrest.

ICICI Bank To Charge Customers For Cash Deposits At ATM
ICICI Bank has announced that it will charge Rs 50 from its customers for cash deposits through ATMs from November 1. The convenience fee will apply when the deposits are made during non-working hours or bank holidays and, also, if the amount exceeds Rs 10,000 per month. However, the charges will not be applicable to Jan Dhan accounts, basic savings account and accounts of students, senior citizens and handicapped.
