Maharashtra: Heavy Rains Wreak Havoc; 47 Died, Crops Destroyed
According to reports, atleast 47 people have died due to heavy rains in Maharashtra. The rains have also caused damage to over 7 lakh hectares of crops. Maharashtra: Mumbai-Nagpur Highway Sees Flooding As Dam Discharges Water
According to a senior official from the Irrigation Department, the Mumbai-Nagpur Highway section of Aurangabad district, Maharashtra, was flooded on September 23 due to a dam-discharged water. The official stated that the 'Bor Dahegaon irrigation project' has been filled to capacity almost after a decade. The Police arrived at the spot and diverted the traffic, requiring a roundabout detour of 15 km.
