WhatsApp Bans 17.5 Lakh Accounts In Nov 2021: IT Rules

In compliance with the new IT Rules 2021, WhatsApp banned 17,59,000 accounts in November across India. The meta-owned company also took action on 36 grievance reports out of 602 reports. ''We will continue to bring more transparency to our work and include more information about our efforts in future reports,'' said WhatsApp in its statement. Earlier in October, it banned over 20 lakh accounts.

Iran Bans Travel From 8 African, 4 European countries Due To Omicron

Owing to the COVID-19's Omicron variant scare, Iran banned the entry of people from 12 countries, including eight African and four European countries. King Jong-un ruled North Korea banned its citizen from laughing for 10 days to mark the 10th death anniversary of former Supreme Leader Kim Jong II on December 16. United Airlines Bans Florida Man For Wearing Thong As Face Mask

Adam Jenne, a Florida man, was ejected by United Airlines from the plane for wearing red colour lingerie instead of a proper face mask. Reportedly, Jenne was traveling to Washington DC from Fort Lauderdale International Airport. He said he did it to protest the mask mandate in the US. However, he is also banned by the airline until his case has been reviewed by the Passenger Incident Review Committee.

Pakistan Government Lifts Ban On TikTok

Pakistan government lifted the ban on TikTok in the country. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said, ''the company assured that the users who are continuously involved in uploading unlawful content will be blocked.'' TikTok also said it will further work in accordance with Pakistan's ''law and societal values''. Reportedly, Pakistan had banned the platform in July 2021. Haryana Govt Bans Sale & Use Of Firecrackers In 14 Districts

The Haryana Government on October 31 announced the ban on the sale and use of firecrackers in 14 districts. The ban covers districts such as Gurugram, Rohtak, Sonipat, Bhiwani, Charki Dadri, Faridabad, Jind, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Palwal, Panipat Rewari, and Jhajjar. Furthermore, the government's order stated the ban will also apply where the average air quality index was in the ''poor'' category in November last year.

Trump Demands In US Court To Press Twitter To Restore His Account

After being banned by Twitter, the USA's former president Donald Trump requested in the US District Court to take action against Twitter and force it to restore his account which had roughly 89 million followers prior to the ban. Reportedly, Twitter had banned Trump's account in January to stop him from instigating violence after his followers stormed the Capital building. WhatsApp Bans Over 20 Lakh Accounts In August Across India

WhatsApp has revealed in a monthly compliance report that it banned over 20 lakh accounts in India in August. Reportedly, the company primarily banned the account because of unauthorised use of automated or bulk messages. ''Our top focus is preventing accounts from sending harmful or unwanted messages at scale,'' said Whatsapp. Earlier in July, it had banned over 30 lakh accounts between June 16 to July 31.

Odisha Govt Bans Fircrackers; Extends Night Curfew Till Nov 1

To protect the health of the citizens amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Odisha government on September 30 banned the sale and usage of firecrackers during this festive month. Besides, the government said that the night curfew will continue in urban areas from 10 PM to 5 AM between October 1 to November 1. However, the curfew in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will start from 8 PM between October 11-20.

Govt Extends Ban On Gutkha & Pan Masala Till Sept 2022: Haryana

Haryana government has decided to extend the ongoing ban on the sale and manufacture of gutkha and pan masala for another year, starting from September 7, to continue till September 2022. Reportedly, the government took the decision in the wake of COVID-19 infection as it wants to stop people from spitting in public places. The order also allowed the authorities to take legal action against violators.
