2 Beggars Found Dead Due To Cold Weather Conditions: UP
Bodies of two beggars were found in Uttar Pradesh's Khatauli town and Shamli district. The reason of theirs death was reported to be cold weather conditions. The bodies were sent for post mortem. The first body hinted the person to be in his forties and no marks were reportedly found on his body, while the second body was found in the verandah of a power house in Shamli.

Mentally Challenged Beggar Who Used To Take Re 1 As Alms Passes Away
Basava, a 45-year-old mentally challenged beggar passed away in the Ballary district of Karnataka on November 13. People put banners of him across the city, and thousands of people came to attend his funeral. Reportedly, Basava used to take only Re 1 as alms, and used to return the rest of the amount. Besides, people used to consider him as their good luck.

Centre Says India Has Over 4 Lakh Beggars; Highest In West Bengal
Union Social Justice Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot has stated that India has over four lakh beggars according to the 2011 census. While Lakshadweep has only two beggars, West Bengal recorded highest number of beggars with 81,244. The next in the list were Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar.
