Punjab CM Have To Prove Cong's Majority As AAP Challenges
Punjab CM Amarinder Singh on September 3 tabled a meeting with MLAs after AAP moves a no-confidence motion against him to prove the majority in the assembly. Reportedly, Navjot Singh Sidhu was seen missing in the meeting. However, the special 1-day session was canceled due to the birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur. Notably, Singh will easily prove Congress' majority as they have 80 MLAs against AAP's 16 MLAs.

Punjab CM Requests MEA To Evacuate Indian Sikhs Stuck In Afghanistan
Punjab CM Amarinder Singh on August 16 has requested the center to immediately evacuate all Indians including 200 Sikhs stranded in Afghanistan's gurdwara. CM Singh tweeted, "My government is willing to extend any help needed to ensure their safe evacuation". He also cautioned to be extra vigilant on all borders. Meanwhile, India is trying to evacuate all the Indians possible following Aghanistans' fall under the Taliban rule.

Covid-19: Punjab Red Flags Vaccine Shortage, Supply Only For 5 Days
Punjab CM Amarinder Singh said his state has only five days of vaccines left; three if it reached its target of two lakh shots per day, and he called on the centre to rush the next batch of vaccines. Singh has written to PM Narendra Modi and the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan for vaccine supply schedules. The central government, however, stated that there is no shortage of vaccines.

Punjab Offers Job To Kin Of Farmers Who Died During Ongoing Stir
Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has promised a government job to a kin of the Punjab farmers who died during the ongoing protest. The CM on January 22 announced the decision during a Facebook live #AskCaptain session, where he also claimed that 76 protesting Punjab farmers have died till now. Calling the Centre's refusal to repeal the farm laws as "inhuman", he lashed out at the Shiromani Akali Dal and AAP for spreading lies.
