BCCI To Compensate Junior Players, Umpires For IPL Postponement

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has announced that the junior players affected by the postponement of the IPL 2021 will be compensated in June-July. Besides, he also assured that the umpires and scorers "will all get their fees". Ganguly confirmed that the remainder of the IPL 2021 will not happen in India saying, "There are lots of organizational hazards like 14-day quarantine. This quarantine is tough to handle.”

Uttarakhand To Declare 136 People Missing Since Chamoli Disaster Dead

At least 136 people, who are still missing since the February 7 Chamoli disaster, have been "presumed dead" by the Uttarakhand government. Punjab Offers Job To Kin Of Farmers Who Died During Ongoing Stir

GST: Union Govt To Borrow Rs 1.1 Lakh Crore And Pass It To States

The Finance Ministry on October 15 stated that it will borrow Rs 1.1 lakh crore to bridge the shortfall in the Goods and Services Tax compensation. It further stated the move will not put pressure on the Centre's fiscal deficit target either because the amount will be transferred to states as loans with minimum interest rate. Reportedly, many states have urged the Centre to borrow on behalf of them.
