CRPF Officer Opens Fire In Chattisgarh Camp; 4 Dead, 3 Injured

Atleast Four Central Reserve Police Force jawans were killed and three were injured in a case of fratricide at a camp under Maraiguda Police Station limits in Sukma district on November 7. Inspector General of Police (Bastar rang) Sundarraj P said, the incident occurred at around 3:30 am in the camp of CRPF’s 50th battalion in Lingampalli village. The village is situated around 400 km from the state capital Raipur.

2 Militants Killed, 3 Jawan Injured In Gunfight At Kashmir's Shopian

In a gunfight between militants and army jawans, two unidentified militants were killed in south Kashmir's Shopian district, said a senior police officer on October 20. Meanwhile, three army soldiers were also got injured who ''have been evacuated to a hospital''. Reportedly, the gunfight occurred between the army and militants when Army and CRPF launched a search operation in the Cheerbag area of Dragad village.

Naxal Maoist Ramesh Ganju Arrested In Jharkhand

Security Forces and Jharkhand Police during a joint operation on the evening of August 19 captured one of the most notorious and wanted Naxal Maoist Ramesh Ganju. Ganju is responsible for killing at least 30 police officers in the last 30 years. Nearly 45 cases have been registered in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand in the past years with a reward of Rs 15 lakh on his head.

Prime Accused In 2019 Pulwama Attack Killed In J&K Encounter

A top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) commander, in addition to one other terrorist, who was the alleged masterminds behind the 2019 Pulwama terror attack on CRPF were killed during a fire exchange by the security forces in Kashmir's Pulwama district of J&K. The incident took place during a search operation in the forest. Inspector general of police Vijay Jumar identified the commander as Ismail Alvi, a relative of Masood Azhar.

Chhattisgarh's Bijapur Encounter: Naxals Release Abducted CoBRA Jawan

Maoists in Chhattisgarh on April 8 released the CRPF CoBRA jawan, Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, who was kidnapped by the Naxals on April 3. The jawan was missing since the deadly clash between the Naxals and security personnel at the Sukma-Bijapur border in the state. Family members of the soldier expressed happiness and thanked the government for ensuring his safe release. Earlier, relatives of Rakeshwar had staged a protest as well.

CPRF Becomes First In World To Have Women Brass Band

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) became the first organisation in the world to form a women's brass band as they included women commandos in its CoBRA unit. The women commandos, who were inducted on the occasion of its 88th All Women Battalion Rising Day, will go under training and be sent to the Naxal-affected areas. Reportedly, 34 women from 6 battalions will undergo a three-month rigorous COBRA pre-induction training.

J&K: Security Forces Kill 3 Terrorists In First Encounter Of 2021

CRPF To Incorporate Micro UAV A-410 Drone In It's Arsenal To Combat Maoists

CRPF is adding up the upgraded gadgets and weapons in its arsenal to gear up its fight against the maoists. Micro UAV A-410 Drone, an improved version of the NETRA-V2 drone will be now used by the troops. UAV weighs 6kg and can fly for around 60 minutes, covering a range of 5km. It has a dual-camera system including the night vision with high pixel resolution. Drones manufactured in India will soon be included in the CRPF arsenal.
