Sri Lankan Crisis: Nation To Soon Run Out Of Medicines, Fear Doctors
Doctors in Sri Lanka fear that soon a medical shortage could be caused as the foreign currency reserves are running out. Reportedly, hospitals are already postponing life-saving procedures for patients, since they do not have the necessary drugs. Sri Lanka imports 80% of its medicines, and the country's healthcare system is close to collapse. "If patients are in a queue for drugs, they will lose their lives," said Dr Ratnasingam.

The Sri Lankan government removed the state of emergency on May 21, approximately two weeks after it was implemented across the country in response to huge anti-government and economic riots. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka had announced a state of emergency on May 6. The decision was made in order to enhance the situation in terms of law and order.

India Extends Full Support To Sri Lanka, Says MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi
Spokesperson for Ministry of External Affairs Arindam Bagchi, on May 10, stated that India is extending its full support to Sri Lanka, for its democracy, economic stability and economic recovery. The comment has come after protests and clashes have intensified in the couple of days. Furthermore, Bagchi said that "India has extended for this year alone support worth over USD 3.5 billion to the people of Srilanka".

The Riot Police who were deployed to prevent any untoward incident, had a verbally battle with the protestors, reported ANI. Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa Agrees To Replace Prime Minister
After a long protest of citizens, the Sri Lankan president Gotabaya Rajapaksa has finally agreed to replace the Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is also his older brother. Sri Lankan Economic Crisis: Health Ministry Reports Drug Shortage
