Central Govt Clears 2 New COVID-19 Vaccine For Emergency Use
Central Government cleared two more vaccine against COVID-19, for emergency use, on December 28. The decision taken during a high-level meeting was welcomed by manufacturers of the two vaccines; CORBEVAX and COVOVAX and an antiviral drug. Notably, CORBEVAX, manufactured by Biological E. Limited passed two Phase III clinical trials on over 3,000 subjects of 18-80 year-old. The company is to begin 100+ million doses from February 2022.

Flyer Tries To Open Emergency Exit Mid-Air On Delhi-Varanasi Flight
A Delhi-Varanasi flight on March 27 suffered a security scare after a passenger attempted to open the emergency exit mid-air causing disturbance on the flight. Reportedly, the passenger seemed mentally ill and the crew held him until the flight landed safely. According to SHO Phulpur, the pilot alerted the air traffic control and requested a priority landing after which the passenger was handed to the Central Industrial Security Force.

Greta Thunberg Urges German Chancellor to Declare Climate Emergency
Environmental activist and two-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee Greta Thuberg met with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel on August 20. She urged the leader to declare a climate emergency. "Everyone blames one another. Someone needs to break that cycle, "said Greta, who also delivered a letter with 125,000 signatures to Merkel. Greta later at a press conference stated that, “We want leaders to step up and treat this as an emergency".
