Amarinder Singh Meets BJP Leader, Confirms Alliance For 2022 Punjab Elections

Amarinder Singh confirmed to form an alliance with the BJP for the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, on December 17. The formal announcement came after a meeting between Amarinder Singh and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in Charge of BJP in Punjab. "We are ready and we are going to win this election. The decision on seat sharing will be taken on seat-to-seat basis of winnability being the priority," said Amarinder Singh.

Rajya Sabha Approves Dam Safety Bill 2019

The Rajya Sabha, on December 8, approved the "Dam Safety Bill." Tabled by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the bill sought systematic surveillance, maintenance and operation, avoiding disasters. Changed to "Dam Safety, Amendment Bill 2021," the bill added a clause, which impose punishment to state or individuals, upon violation of the laws. The Bill is now yet to be assented by the President.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat To Table Dam Safety Bill 2019 In Rajya Sabha

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will again table "Dam Safety Bill 2019" in Rajya Sabha during the ongoing winter session of Parliament Session on December 2. Under the bill, specified damns will have systematic surveillance, maintenance, inspection, and operation, avoiding disasters. Earlier on November 1, Shekhawat had moved the bill but due to ruckus by the opposition, it wasn't passed by the House.

Rajasthan: 16 Inmates Flee After Throwing Black Pepper Powder On Guards

At least 16 prisoners have reportedly broken out of Phalodi sub-jail in Jodhpur on April 5 after throwing black pepper powder in the eyes of guards. The inmates first injured the female guard at the jail's mess and then beat others to submission. Reportedly, three escapees are from Bihar while the rest are from Jodhpur. Meanwhile, BJP MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat took a jibe at the state's law and order.
