IMD Issues Alerts For Cyclone Mocha Likely To Intensify

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert for cyclone Mocha, which is likely to be intensified today evening from the Bay of Bengal. As per the IMD, the Cyclone will be hitting the region of West Bengal by May 14. Furthermore, We've deployed 8 teams. 200 rescuers of NDRF deployed on the ground and 100 rescuers on standby," said the NDRF Battalion. Moreover, forces are also deployed in Digha.

IMD Issues Cyclone Mocha Alert Forming Over Bay Of Bengal

A cyclone named "Mocha" is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal, causing heavy to very heavy rainfall and cyclonic thunderstorm in West Bengal. In addition, Odisha has been put on alert, confirmed the Indian Meteorological Department. Furthermore, the cyclone will also affect Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall. An advisory for people near coastal regions has also been issued.

Telugu States To Witness More Rainfall For Next Few Days: IMD

The Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telnagana, are witnessing heavy to very heavy rainfall. In the latest weather forecast, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted rainfall in the two Telugu states for the next three days. Getting into the details, the two states will witness rain from May 2, and will receive rainfall and thunderstorm till May 4. The people of the two Telugu states were asked to be alert.

IMD Predicts Light Rainfall In Mumbai For Next 2 Days

Unseasonal rain coupled with lightning and thunderstorm lashed parts of Mumbai, bringing some respite from the hot and humid weather in the city. As per the IMD, the rain is likely to cotinue for the next two-three days in the metro city. In addition, the weather agency said, with the rainfall in Mumbai, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 35°C & 24°C.

India To Witness Normal Monsoon In 2023: IMD

India will witness normal weather patterns during the monsoon season this year. The Indian Meteorological Department said, "Normal to below-normal rainfall likely over parts of northwest India, west, central and northeast regions during southwest monsoon."
