First IPS Officer To Get Shiv Chhatrapati Maharashtra Sports Award
In a notable recognition of his passion and dedication to adventure sports, IPS Krishna Prakash, the Chief of Force One, Maharashtra, has been awarded the Shiv Chhatrapati Maharashtra Sports Award by the Government of Maharashtra. This marks the first time an IPS officer has been honored in adventure sports. The award ceremony took place at Balewadi Stadium in Pune, where Governor Ramesh Bais and CM Eknath Shinde presented the accolade.

IPS Officer Madhur Verma Appointed As ACB Head
Senior IPS officer of 2005 Batch Madhur Verma is the new head of the anti-corruption branch (ACB), confirmed officials on August 9. Prior to ACB Head, IPS Verma was an additional commissioner in the Delhi police’s armed department and succeeded Sunil Kumar Gautam. He also worked as the DCP of the crime branch in New Delhi's north district and was public relations officer of the Delhi Police till 2019.

Tapan Kumar Deka To Replace Arvind Kumar As Director Of Intelligence Bureau
Tapan Kumar Deka, 1988-batch IPS officer from Himachal cadre, has been appointed as the director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). Deka will replace current IB chief Arvind Kumar, after the end of his tenure on June 30. Reportedly, the government has selected Deka over other senior officers, going with "merit over seniority". Legendary IPS Officer, Founder of Mumbai ATS Aftab Ahmed Khan Dies At 81
Retired IPS officer and founder of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Mumbai, Aftab Ahmed Khan (81), passed away following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter. Khan was commissioned as an IPS officer in the Maharashtra cadre, in 1963. "Khan saab was a dashing officer who always led from the front," said Iqbal Shaikh, his friend and retired ACP.

Viresh Kumar Bhawra Becomes New DGP Of Punjab
Punjab government under the leadership of Charanjit Singh Channi has decided to appoint Senior IPS officer Viresh Kumar Bhawra as the new director general of police of Punjab. Bhawra is an IPS officer of the 1987 batch, reported PTI. He will hold the office for two years from the date of assumption, as per the government's order.
