Padidala Vishwanath, son of a daily wage laborer represented India in the Optimist World Sailing Championship 2021 at the Riva Del Garda in Italy. The 15-year-old was selected in the junior boy's yachting team for the competition that lasted from June 30 to July 10. IPS and Director of Telangana residential social welfare school, RS Parvin Kumar recognized Padidala's passion for sailing and encouraged him, his father said.

In a shocking revelation, 35 incumbent and retired Indian Police Service officers owe the Maharashtra government Rs 3.82 crore in penalties for continuing to live in official housing after being removed from their postings.
