Former Minister Babu Singh Sent To Judicial Custody

A Special Court in Jammu has sent Babu Singh, a former state minister, to judicial custody for 30 days, in connection with the Hawala scandal. Singh had been absconding since March and was taken into custody by the police only on April 9. Mohammed Shareef Shah, another person accused in the case, has also been sent to judicial custody. The next hearing is slated for May 15.

The Karnataka Police arrested the man who issued death threats to Karnataka HC judges, who pronounced "Hijab Row" verdict. Karnataka Hijab Row verdict in favour of the Karnataka government and university disappointed a community in the state, following which a man allegedly issued a death threat to the judges. Undertrial Dies In Police Custody, Inquiry Ordered Maharashtra

Dattatreya Wake,  an undertrial alleged of harassing a woman, died under the police custody before court trials in Thane. On March 1, the police informed that Dattatreya Warke,who was remanded in an isolated cell awaiting COVID-19 test, died due to seizure. Although he was rushed to the civic hospital, he died during treatment on February 27. The Thane Police ordered an inquiry in the matter.

Lakhimpur Violence Accused Ashish Mishra Sent To Judicial Custody

Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni's son Ashish Mishra has been sent to judicial custody following his arrest in connection with Lakhimpur Kheri violence in Uttar Pradesh on October 9. However, a local will decide whether he'll be sent to police custody for three-day on October 11. Police have arrested two out of seven accused mentioned in the FIR. Notably, eight people died in the violence, including four farmers.
