Kerala Police Arrests Couple With 1.95 Kg Of MDMA: Kannur

The Kerala police have arrested a couple with 1.95 kg of MDMA worth Rs 1.5 crores from Kannur plaza junction, on March 7. The accused have been identified as Balkis and her husband Afzal from Muzhappilangad. Besides MDMA, the police recovered 67 grams brown sugar, and 7.5 grams of opium, wrapped in a cloth and were brought from Bengaluru in a bus. Furthermore, an investigation is underway.

Kerala Police Arrests 150 Migrants Amid Police Attack

At least 150 migrants were arrested by the Kerala Police, on December 26. The migrants were alleges of attacking five policemen, set ablaze vehicle and vandalised three vehicles. They have took all migrants at a camp on custody, amid a fight which erupted during Christmas celebration in Kazhakkamballa in Kochi. The migrants will be under custody at various stations, until assailants were found. The investigation is underway.

A woman at Kerala's Varkala is inspiring many young women after joining 'Varkala Police' as a sub-inspector against all odds of her life. The 31-year-old, Anie Siva used to sell lemonade and ice cream at Varkala along with her 6-month-old baby after being abandoned by her husband at the age of 18. ''Varkala is a place I shed many tears with my small child,'' said Inspector Siva.

Kerala Police Interrogates Sunny Leone In Alleged Cheating Case

Actress Sunny Leone was interrogated by Kerala’s Kochi crime branch for allegedly cheating an event management company. The complaint accused Sunny of skipping a 2019 Valentine's Day event for which she had received an advance payment of Rs 29 lakh. However, Sunny maintained that she appeared twice, but the event kept postponing. The police said it would further pursue the case under IPC section 420.

Kerala Police Bust Rave Party In Idukki, Arrest 60 People

Following a raid on December 20 at a private resort, the Kerala Police arrested 60 people from a rave party in Idukki district. The police seized large quantities of psychedelic drugs from the location. The resort owner, however, is absconding. Those arrested, including a few techies from Bengaluru, are said to be associated with the entertainment industry. Meanwhile, blood samples of the accused arrested have been sent for medical tests.

Kerala: 23-year-old Man Allegedly Tortured For Hours By Two Cops

A 23-year-old man of Kerala's Malappuram district has filed a police complaint, wherein he alleged that two cops stripped him nearly naked and tortured him for hours on October 24. The complainant, MV Najmuddin, stated that he was told later by the police that a woman had filed a complaint against him. Reportedly, one of the cops accused, Anees, has been suspended after the preliminary enquiry in the case.

Kerala: Traffic System Modernised With 'e-Challan System'

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on September 22 inaugurated the 'e-Challan system' for collection of traffic fines, as a part of an initiative to modernise the functioning of Kerala Police. The Police opined that this will remove corruption and improve transparency. With this, traffic cameras record cases of violations and then pass it to the virtual courts through the 'e-challan system'. Also, fines can be paid using 'e-treasury system'.
