Bengaluru Reports Increased Lung Diseases Following 'Diwali Pollution'
Many hospitals in Bengaluru have observed a rise in the number of patients suffering from respiratory diseases as the air quality has deteriorated since Diwali. Air Quality Index around Diwali jumped by 23% compared to the same time last year. The number of people suffering from lung diseases has increased by approximately 30%. Doctors advise people to avoid going out too much and use masks at all times.

Passive Smoking Also Causes Lung Cancer: Health Experts
Passive smoking increases the risk of lung cancer in non-smokers as well, according to health experts. "Almost 25% of all lung cancer patients are non-smokers," said Dr Ashu Abhishek, the senior consultant at Fortis Hospital.
