In Massachusetts, a Muslim woman has lodged a complaint with the state's Commission Against Discrimination. A man found a dead lizard in the coke he ordered at McDonald's in Ahmedabad. Upon complaining to the manager, he "laughed and offered a refund" of Rs 300, instead of taking any action. Also, the customer stated that the staff threatened to call the cops, if they don't leave. Reportedly, the outlet has been sealed by the food and drugs department after a complaint was lodged.

Jeanette Eriksson-Gray (39) had ordered Happy Meals from McDonald's via Uber Eats. Reportedly, she entered the wrong address while ordering, and requested the driver to deliver to the changed address. Unfortunately, the driver denied her request and threw the food in the bushes. However, she got a refund for the order, but she does not plan to order from the app further as the incident made her "really upset".

After a six-day auction on eBay, a single piece of McDonald's BTS meal chicken nugget was sold for $99,997. The chicken nugget, which was posted up for auction on May 28, was said to have an uncanny resemblance to an 'Among Us' game character. Interestingly, the bid started at just $0.99 after which it shot up. This is said to be one of the biggest bid related to BTS.

In a bid to provide more convenient way of ordering food, McDonald's has enabled WhatsApp service, a 100% contactless ordering service. Under this, the customer needs to text ‘Hi’ on 9953916666, which will offer a link to order food and provide details. After confirmation of the order, a bill will be sent to the customer’s WhatsApp number. Launching initially in Delhi only, McDonald's looks to boost sales amid the less footfall at stores.
