Centre Withdraws Mukul Roy’s Z-category VIP security: West Bengal

BJP MLA Mukul Roy, who recently rejoined Trinamool Congress (TMC) with his son Shubhrangshu, has been debarred with the Z-category VIP security, on June 17. Union Home Ministry has ordered the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to remove the security. As per sources, Mukul Roy himself had written a letter to the center to withdraw the security. However, the state police have been providing them security.

Former Minister Mukul Roy Resigns BJP, Joins TMC Along With His Son

After facing a massive defeat in West Bengal Assembly Election 2021, BJP is trying hard to keep its flock together. Meanwhile, the BJP's national vice-president Mukul Roy and his son Subhrangshu returned to TMC. However, both the the leaders had met CM Mamata Banerjee and other senior leaders before joining the party. Earlier, Mukul had resigned from TMC in 2017, and his son joined the BJP in 2019.

BJP Vice-President Mukul Roy's Security Upgraded To 'Z' Category

Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly polls, the Centre has upgraded the security of BJP national vice president Mukul Roy to 'Z' category. The 66-year-old veteran, who defected the TMC to join the BJP in 2017, was earlier accorded the 'Y+' security cover. Saradha Group Owner Accuses Leaders From INC, CPM, TMC & BJP Of Scam

In a letter written to the PM and Delhi CM on December 5, Saradha Group owner Sudipta Sen has sought a probe on five politicians for allegedly swindling "huge amounts of money" from him. Reportedly, Sudipta has mentioned Mukul Roy (BJP), Adhir Chowdhury (INC), Suvendu Adhikari (TMC), Biman Bose and Sujan Chakraborty (CPI-M) in the letter. However, West Bengal MLA Sujan has claimed an "ulterior motive" behind the letter.
