Roads Blockage, Water-Power Supply Disruption Due To Heavy Snowfall: HP
After being hit by a heavy snowfall in HP, several roads, including four national highways were closed, while several power and water supply schemes disrupted. As per State Disaster Management Authority's data, 731 roads were closed, 1,467 power-and-water supply schemes were disrupted. India's Power Consumption Grew By 1.83% In Sept Than Last Year
After India's power consumption demand got affected by the COVID-19's second wave in April, the data released by the power ministry shows a gradual rise in consumption in September at 1.83% to 114.49 billion units (BU) from 112.43 BU, comparing to the last year. It's expected to improve further if the third wave doesn't strike. However, owing to the heavy rains the demand remained subdued, said experts.

NGT Orders To Lay Underground Cables To Protect Great Indian Bustard

Tata to Stop Street Light Service in Northern Delhi From October 15

Centre Serves Notice to Jharkhand; Asks To Pay Power Bill Of Rs 5,600 Crore
Union Power Ministry served a notice to Jharkhand, asking to pay power supply dues of Rs 5,600 crore to Damodar Valley Corporation. It stated that JBVNL had been irregular in paying the power bills. However, it suggested that Jharkhand can “avail a loan under the Atmanirbhar Bharat” package. It also stated the RBI will deduct the amount from the state's account in quarterly instalments if there is failure in payment.
