MP Govt Organises Youth Mahapanchayat To Hold Development Discussions
The Madhya Pradesh Government announced to organise a "Youth Mahapanchayat" in Bhopal. Held between July 23-24, the Mahapanchayat will mark the 116th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad. MP CM Announces Jobs For Youths, Industrial Clusters For Women
MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced one lakh jobs for youths and industrial clusters for women entrepreneurs, during an event marking completion of two-years of his fourth term. On March 24, Chouhan said, the BJP led MP Government will ensure setting up of Rs 100 crore Mukhyamantri Nari Samman Kosh scheme. Furthermore, he also announced 50% and 30% reservation for women, in teachers and police recruitments, respectively.

MP CM Chouhan Announces Lata Mangeshkar Academy In Indore
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on February 7, announced to set up Lata Mangeshkar Academy in Indore. The announcement was made during a routing plantation at Smart Park in Bhopal. "A museum shall also be constructed, a statue installed and a birth anniversary award instituted". Notably, Madhya Pradesh is the birth state of Lata Mangeshkar, who died on February 6, and was given state honours for final rites.

MP CM Lays Foundation Stone Of Indore Metro Rail Work
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stone of metro works in Indore, on December 25. It is a project of Rs 7,500 crore and includes 16 metro stations. The metro service is being developed ''in a ring shape starting and ending at the Indore Airport''. "Clean city Indore and smart city Indore, will soon become a metro city also," said Chouhan at the ceremony.

Yoga To Be Included In MP School Curriculum: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on December 8 announced that yoga will be included in the school curriculum. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Task Force to discuss National Education Policy 2020. Reportedly, the new step will promote yoga amongst the masses. "We'll integrate yoga education at the school level to make education interesting and to promote good health among students," said CM Chouhan.

Govt Plans To Impose Surcharge On Liquor & Other Services To Fund Cow Welfare
The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to levy a surcharge on products such as liquor and services offered by local governments in order to raise Rs 100 Crore to fund the state's cow shelters. According to reports, the cow shelter board is in need of Rs 160 crores to feed the cows living in 1,300 shelters. Hence, CM Shivraj Chauhan asked the districts to give a proposal at the earliest.

4 Infants Die In ICU As Hospital Catches Fire In Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh
The government of Madhya Pradesh on November 9, reported the deaths of four infants in the Kamala Nehru Children's Hospital, situated in Bhopal. According to officials, a fire broke out in the hospital's Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), which is believed to be caused due to a short circuit. Reportedly, CM ordered a "high-level" probe into the incident, with an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the families.

Woman Suffers Internal Organs' Burn After Forcibly Drinking Acid
A woman in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh suffered serious internal burns after her husband allegedly made her consume acid. She has been brought to Delhi for treatment. Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson, Swati Maliwal said that the accused is on the run and has not been arrested.
